As BMC's IS&T Chief of Staff, Karen led the strategy, definition, and implementation of IS&T internal business management practices. A thought leader in IT Business Management, Karen is regularly requested to speak at conferences and webinars and has published White papers on the subject. Prior to joining BMC Software, Karen held various IT positions at ExxonMobil Company and Shell Oil Company. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Accounting and Management Information Services from the University of South Florida.

Karen is the proud mother of Kristin, 24, and Scott, 25, and has been happily married to attorney Roland Garcia for 28 years. An animal lover, Karen has three cats, a dog, a snake, and has fostered a miniature horse named StudMuffin. She also is an avid gardener believing that we all have to contribute to our environmental well being by utilizing organic methods and recycling as much as possible.
