Kathryne has worked in the food industry all her life, but it wasn't until her career at Sachnowitz & Co., where she served as account manager and customer relations executive from 1998 to 2003, that she recognized the importance of advertising and marketing for restaurateurs.

Kathryne transitioned to a career that brought her two passions--food and promotions--together, and took a position at Brennans in 2003, where she remained until 2009 as the restaurant's Marketing Director. She also assisted Brennan's Chef Randy Evans write "The Kitchen Table," a cookbook published in 2006.

When Chef Evans left to establish his own restaurant, Kathryne followed along to run the front of the house for him.

Kathryne became a Recipe for Success volunteer, helping Chef Randy in the classroom, and she joined the Board of Directors in 2007. "I'm amazed by what the kids know, what they want to know, and what they care about," she says, "But I'm also amazed by the power of the white jacket. When professional chefs come into the classroom the kids really listen." RFS is a Castellanos family affair, with her husband Romeo donating his time to help keep the Foundation's computers and IT systems running.

In 2008, Kathryne stepped in to temporarily assist the foundation with Special Events and Marketing. She has served as Vice President of the Board and currently chairs the Marketing Committee.
