summer_seminar.jpgIn June 2010, Recipe for Success launched a pilot program to train chefs, gardeners and educators to implement Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ in new schools and communities.
 
The S2P Training and Certification Program included seminars, self study, hands-on practical teaching segments conducted in RFS Kitchen and Garden classrooms, four written tests, two practicals, and a final examination. 

Now in the second phase, our S2P Instructor Training and Certification is being adapted for distance learning.  The new virtual classroom includes 30 learning modules divided into 4 goal sets, each ending in a test. Candidates who complete the entire program and pass all tests with 85% or better, are certified as an S2P Level I Instructor and able to give our signature programming at a sanctioned affiliate location with the full support of Recipe for Success Foundation.

Beginning in 2012, the distance learning S2P Instructor Level I Training and Certification option will be available nationwide to any registered candidate sponsored by a sanctioned RFS affiliate.  Training is most appropriate for professional chefs with gardening experience or gardeners with culinary training, or teachers with extensive background in the garden and kitchen.  Passing an application test that indicates a minimum skill set in kitchen and garden is required.  Interested in taking the application test? On-site S2P Level II Training and Certification will be held each summer in the Houston offices and school-based classrooms of Recipe for Success.  Level I certification is required and 20 spaces per session are available on a first come basis.
